I really do love a great winter wedding, the frost, the amazing light of the golden hour at 3 pm and the cozy Xmasy feeling with family and friends. The wedding of Laura & David had all this and much more!

I joined Laura at home where she spent the morning with her girls, preparing herself and enjoying the wedding day buzz. Before racing into Macclesfield to meet up with David who was with his family and groomsmen at the Cock in Treacle pub. After a couple of portraits, they headed over to the Unitarian Chapel on King Edward Street, an amazing quaint chapel built-in 1689.

Macclesfield Unitarian Chapel Wedding Ceremony

Laura soon arrived with her bridesmaids to meet her father who was stood waiting by the chapel. He then led her into the church and up the aisle to meet David for their ceremony. Their service was interspersed with a song to sing, everyone turned over their order of service and laughter erupted as “I’m a believer” by The Monkees was played through the chapel. I have to say that this was a wedding first for me and I kind of just sat there pretty stunned and listened to everyone as they heartily sang away.

After the formal part of the ceremony, the couple exited the chapel to be congratulated by their family and friends before entering their car in a flurry of confetti. I then raced ahead to Siddington Village Hall where the wedding party would send the rest of their day. As we arrived, the sun was out and in a perfect place for some gorgeous portraits of the couple before we had the chance to shoot some family groups and get inside to the warmth of the beautifully decorated village hall.

After the wedding breakfast and a round of speeches, the group simply sat back and enjoyed an evening of chatting before the entertainment began. The couple cut their cake and stepped up to the dance floor for the first time as man and wife, dancing to La Ritournelle by Sébastien Tellier. The wedding party then enjoyed a delicious hog roast before we had the chance to get a final shot of the couple under the trees that surrounded the hall.

A massive congratulations to Laura & David, I had an amazing day with you and your family. Have an awesome honeymoon and thank you so much for having me with you as your photographer!
