A Quaint Summer Wedding At Hilltop Country House

A Quaint Summer Wedding At Hilltop Country House

On Friday I spent an amazing day with Sarah & Jack as they gathered with their family and friends to celebrate their wedding at the gorgeous Hilltop Country House in Prestbury. Once again it was a pleasure to work with Martin, Clare & the Gardner family at their lovely home.

I started the day with Sarah who spent the morning at the hair salon before heading to her mum’s house. I arrived to a calm atmosphere which quickly turned to excitement when her bridesmaids walked through the door. Prosecco was popped, makeup was applied (in the garden, as you do!) and Sarah was expertly dressed by her bridesmaids. Jack was already at church when I arrived to meet him, he was greeting their family and friends as they made their way down the cobbled streets of Styal Village.

Styal Methodist Chapel Wedding Ceremony

A nice bit of trivia is that Robert Greg, the owner of Quarry Bank Mill, converted a grain store into the chapel in the 1830s, after it was discovered that the local Methodists were meeting in secret in a cellar! Sarah soon arrived with her girls and was walked down the aisle by her very proud mum to meet Jack for the ceremony. After an intimate ceremony interspersed with readings and very enthusiastic singing, the couple completed the formal part of their day and made their way back up the aisle as man and wife. Their guests gathered to shower the couple in confetti outside the chapel and lots of congratulatory hugs and kisses.

Racing over to Prestbury, I arrived just in time to greet the couple as they drove up their lane to Hilltop. The weather was being kind as the guests gathered for drinks and canapes on the patio, taking in the beautiful gardens and laughing with each other. I stole the couple away for some portraits and we had a good wander through the amazingly manicured grounds of the house.

Wedding Breakfast In The Marquee

It was dinner time soon enough, everyone convened within the beautifully decorated marquee and stood to welcome Sarah and Jack into their wedding breakfast. After the main course was cleared, I wandered the tables looking for little moments to capture for the couple to help remember their day. Everyone was relaxed, chatting as their enjoyed their desert and ready for a round of speeches. As the evening began, the guests enjoyed garden games outside before gathering in the Boogie Room for the first dance.

So Huge Congratulations to Sarah & Jack, it was a pleasure to spend the day with you both.
