A Travel Inspired Wedding At King Street Townhouse
I really do love shooting a wedding in the centre of my fine city, Manchester. There’s something unique, a buzz (no bee pun intended) about having your wedding in the centre of any city but when it’s the city you grew up in, then it’s even more special. This is exactly what Natalie & Steven wanted for their wedding day, a unique venue in King Street Townhouse and an awesome party akin to those great nights out with good friends.
Stylish Morning Preparations
Both Natalie & Steven decided to both get ready at King St which meant that I was able to spend a little time with them both in the morning. They were both in great spirits for the day ahead, Natalie with her girls being prepared by the fab Sarah Meredith MUA and the guys dressed in amazing brown tweed suits. Their ceremony took place on the first floor in the Townhouse Hub, a beautiful candlelit ceremony surrounded by their closest family and friends.
Drinks In the Sun On The South Terrace
After the formal part of their day was completed, the guests maed their way up to the 6th floor and out onto the South Terrace for welcome drinks, canapes, and music by Michael Mulholland. After a whole bunch of congratulatory hugs and kisses, the couple had a short hop up to the rooftop for some group portraits with family. We then had a quick wander up to the Town Hall for some portraits of the couple together. Much of my portraiture today is much more informal with us just waving a wander and a lighthearted chat, I find that this makes for a more natural set of couple shots.
A Party In The Evening Sunshine At King Street Townhouse
After a delicious meal and a round of speeches in their travel-inspired wedding breakfast, the couple took time to spend the evening with their guests. We managed to snatch a few portraits back on the roof of the hotel as the sun was setting which made for a stunningly romantic collection of photos. Soon after, Natalie & Steven cut their amazing wedding cake before taking to the floor for their first dance. Family and friends joined them and kept the dance floor full for the rest of the night.
So Huge Congratulations to Natalie & Steven, it was a pleasure to spend the day with you both.
King Street Townhouse, located within the upper King Street Conservation Area of Manchester city centre, is an impressive Italian renaissance building, designed by local architect Edward Salomons and originally built in 1872 for the Manchester Salford Trustees Bank. Our intention was to respectfully expand on the allure and unique qualities of this historic building with our baby grand hotel providing the need for new contemporary accommodation in the area.
