East Lodge Hotel Wedding Photography
On Saturday, I went over the hills into Sheffield for their wedding of Laura & Wayne. This very lovely couple got married at St James Church in Norton, a church that dates it’s origins back in 1170. They spent the afternoon at the quaint East Lodge Hotel, originally the Hunting Lodge to nearby Haddon Hall, the Derbyshire seat of the Duke of Rutland. Joining me for this wedding adventure was Claire Waby of Claire Basiuk Photography who would be second shooting through the day.
I spent the morning with Laura who was with her family and bridesmaids, Claire was with Wayne and his groomsmen at the nearby Doubletree By Hilton. We both had really nice chilled out mornings, just capturing the goings on of two people preparing themselves for one of the most exciting days in their lives so far. Wayne arrived early at church to greet the guests and Laura, once ready, strolled to church with her entourage.
A Traditional Church Wedding in Norton
After a beautiful ceremony filled with a little nerves, much laughter and a lot of emotion, the couple exited church into the waiting arms of their family and friends for congratulatory hugs and kisses. The walked through the churchyard, through a shower of confetti and into their Rolls Royce for the drive through the Chatsworth Estate to East Lodge. Arriving for their drinks reception, delicious canapés and great company, the couple enjoyed a relaxed afternoon in the sun. We paused for some family groups on the lawn before having a wander through the lush gardens for portraits of the couple together.
An Evening Party In The Marquee
Dinner and speeches were soon served before the guests relaxed in the beautiful surroundings of the lodge. We chased the last of the evening sun for some final portraits before the party really began.
So Huge Congratulations to Laura & Wayne, a fun-loving couple that truly enjoyed every-single-part of their day. A bride that didn’t stop smiling & laughing and a groom that took it all in his stride! Also, Massive Thanks to your family and friends who made me feel so welcome. I hope that you guys have a fantastic honeymoon and thanks so much for having me with you as your photographer.
