Hyde Bank Farm Wedding Photography

When I first met Sophie & Alan and they told me all about their wedding, I knew that it was going to be an ace day! Fast forward to last Friday at the gorgeous Hyde Bank Farm and seeing their plans come to fruition, I was totally right!

I began the day with Sophie and her family at her home. The morning was relaxed and calm with the girls simply enjoying some pampering and each others company. Once everyone was ready, we paused for some portraits before I raced ahead to Hyde Bank Farm.

A Rustic Barn Ceremony

An equally calm and collected Alan was there with his groomsmen greeting the couple’s family and friends. Sophie soon arrived and walked up the aisle to the delight of the waiting groom. After a ceremony filled with laughter and a little emotion, the couple signed the register and walked back up the aisle as man and wife before enjoying their sunny drinks reception surrounded by family and friends.

As the weather was pretty amazing, we gathered outside for some family groups before stealing the couple away for some portraits around the beautiful countryside. The couple were then welcomed into their amazing wedding breakfast room, decorated by the very talented Classy Blooms. After a delicious dinner, the couple enjoyed a round of speeches before enjoying some more portraits around the gardens of the farm.

An Evening In The Sunshine

Sophie & Alan then returned to their party, took to the floor for their first dance together. I managed to capture some final portraits and an impromptu Eurovision Song Contest Medley Dance-Off before leaving everyone to enjoy their evening together.

So Huge Congratulations to Sophie & Alan! I had an excellent day at Hyde Bank Farm with you both, I hope that you have an amazing honeymoon and thank you so much for having me with you!

About Hyde Bank Farm

On the south end of this building is a date stone marked ‘ARH 1655’. It is a grade two listed building because of its architectural and historical interest. The building’s previous use was a barn, where horse-drawn carts would pull in to unload hay and corn sheaves into the lofts. On the ground floor was a stable for three Shire horses that provided the horsepower for the farm. By the 1990s the old building developed a serious lean towards the south, so the present owners Alan and Philip Blackhurst decided to make the structure safe and convert it to what it is today. To do this they had to strip off the stone flag roof, winch the wooden trusses back to their original position and then place the stone flags back. All of the beams and the stone roof flats are the originals used to make the building in 1655.
