A gorgeously scenic venue + a very fun-loving couple = a darn awesome wedding! It was an unforgettable day in so many ways, and a true pleasure to shoot and be a part of!

I started the day with Sarah and her 17, yes, 17 bridesmaids! A very talented bunch of ladies who prepared and looked after each other, they also made sure that the whole day went smoothly too. Michael soon arrived after racing up from Mansfield with his groomsmen in some fairly pimped out automobiles and I managed to catch up with him for some portraits before leaving him to enjoy a cold beer in the bar. After being expertly preened and dressed, Sarah was ready for the day ahead. Once everyone was seated, she gathered with her girls to make their grand entrance to the wedding ceremony.

Their ceremony was full of laughter, joy, emotional readings and a spontaneous sing-song. After signing the register, the newly married couple enjoyed their drinks reception in the Red Lion Bistro, being congratulated and laughing with family and friends. They then made their way out into the afternoon sun in a flurry of confetti. After pausing for some family groups and Christian Louboutin shoe fun, I led them into the gorgeous Derbyshire countryside for some portraits.

The wedding party soon sat for dinner, beginning with hilarious and heartfelt speeches and ending in delicious food! After dinner, the couple simply relaxed & chatted with their family and friends before greeting their evening guests. Once the evening party had begun, the couple cut their amazing cake (made by a bridesmaid, of course!) and took to the floor to enjoy their first dance. The dance floor was soon packed out with family and friends so I jumped in and shot some awesome dancing images. It was soon announced that the couple had prepared sparklers for everyone, so we formed the guests up and the couple ran through them. I then stole the couple away for their final portraits of the night before leaving them to enjoy their evening together.

It’s always sad to leave a wedding, especially having spent such an amazing day with a really awesome bunch of people! I want to thank Carly and her team at the Peak Edge Hotel for their amazing hard work and Michael Langley of Satin Pictures for his laid back cinematics! I also want to wish Sarah & Michael Huge Congratulations, thank you so much for having me with you as your photographer!!
