Sandhole Oak Barn Wedding Photography

What an amazing day!! To shoot Sandhole Oak Barn Wedding Photography is a real privilege as it’s such a gorgeous location, however, to be part of Lucy & Matt’s wedding day took it to a whole new level. I was joined by the cinematic guru that is Michael Langley from Satin Pictures too.

I first arrived with Lucy who was getting ready in the Granary surrounded by her bridesmaids and family. The atmosphere was calm but with a sense of surrealism that the day had arrived but didn’t feel real quite yet. Matt soon arrived, I’m told in a small Fiat Panda with all 4 of his groomsmen crammed in with him. I caught up with him beside the lake for some shots with his best men before they went to prepare and I returned to Lucy.

The girls then began to get ready and Lucy was expertly tied into her gorgeous dress by her mum before we had time to pause for some portraits. Once everyone was ready, the wedding party made the short walk over to the main barn for the ceremony. Now as a confident kind of guy, Matt was able to hold it together nicely as their bridesmaids made their entrance, however, his reaction when Lucy walked down the aisle was priceless! As teachers, Lucy & Matt we able to call on the amazing skills of their school choir for their ceremony and the group really didn’t disappoint.

Portraits Around The Lake

After the couple enjoyed their ceremony, they exited the barn as husband and wife to be congratulated by their family and friends. During this time we paused for some family groups and then stole the couple away for a few portraits around this amazing location. Lucy & Matt then returned to the party just in time of their wedding breakfast and we were lucky enough to enjoy a delicious meal too. We returned to the group in time for the speeches which gave everyone an eye-opening insight into the lives of the couple, much to Lucy & Matt’s embarrassment.

Before the evening began, we captured a few more creative portraits before returning to the party. The couple then cut their deliciously pungent cheesecake surrounded by their friends before taking to the dance floor as husband and wife. We then stepped back and captured everyone having a great time, chatting, relaxing and dancing aplenty.

So what an excellent way to spend a Monday and huge congratulations to Lucy & Matt. Thanks so much for having me as your photographer!
