A Charming Winter Wedding At Statham Lodge
Back in February 2020, I was lucky enough to spend the day with Jessica & Paul shooting Statham Lodge wedding photography. February can always be a tricky time of year when it comes to weather, almost a lull in the seasons which you can’t really plan for. Luckily we had dropped on a great neutral day, no rain, no sun either but I wasn’t complaining.
Both Jessica and Paul spent the morning at the hotel with their family and friends, I was able to spend a bit of time with both of them as they enjoyed a bit of relaxing prep. They opened presents, drank some bubbles, reminisced on past family weddings and there was a great atmosphere of excitement for the day ahead.

After dressing with the help of her mum and bridesmaids, Jessica enjoyed an emotional reveal with her dad as Paul waited downstairs in the ceremony room with their guests. The couple enjoyed a lovely ceremony filled with laughter and furtive glances between themselves and their guests. They signed their register, completing the formal part of their day before walking back up the aisle and out into a bunch of confetti with their guests. After enjoying hugs and kisses from their family, friends and pet doggie, the couple enjoyed their drinks reception in the warmth of the bar.
Portraits In The Statham Lodge Gardens
Before dinner, we paused for some family group photos outside the front of the hotel, before stealing the couple away for some portraits around the lovely grounds. The majority of my portraits involve just wandering around the different parts of the gardens. There are a few really beautiful spots like the woodlands, the gazebo and the ivy archway which provides an exciting background for some ace portraits.
Dinner & Speeches In The Ballroom
The guests were soon called for dinner and welcomed the couple to their wedding breakfast where they enjoyed a round of speeches before a delicious meal. The guests then alighted back to the bar area to relax before the evening party began. The couple greeted their evening guests which is always a great set of moments to capture, bring the post-ceremony excitement back to the fore.
Statham Lodge Wedding Party
It was soon time for the couple to be welcomed into their party where they cut their amazing wedding cake and took to the floor for their first dance as man and wife. Their family and friends joined them soon after and kept the dancefloor full for the rest of the night ensuring Jessica & Paul had a wedding party to remember!
So a massive Congratulations to Jessica & Paul, I had an amazing day with your family and friends. All the very to you both, thanks so much for having me as your Statham Lodge Wedding Photographer!
