Venice Destination Wedding Photographer
All I can say is wow, what an experience this wedding truly was! To shoot any wedding is a great deal of fun and adventure but to shoot a destination wedding in Venice is something else!
Anna and I travelled out to Venice a few days before Kim & Jacks wedding allowing us to get accustomed, plan and do a bit of sight seeing. We joined the couple the day before to go over their final details and also for their pre wedding shoot around St Marks square and the quaint surrounding side streets.
On their wedding day we joined Kim in her suite at the breathtaking 5 star Bauer Il Palazzo where she was preparing herself with her family and bridesmaids. Once she was ready, we made our way by water taxi along the Grand Canal to Palazzo Cavalli near the Rialto Bridge where we met Jack and his 3 best men.
The couple was joined by their family and friends as they were married by the mayor in a beautiful ceremony accompanied by violins. Afterwards, the couple exited to a flurry of confetti as they made their way over the Rialto Bridge to Naranzaria for prosecco and canapés. We then strolled through the small streets to Riva deli Schiavoni where the group boarded their boat for a tour of the Venetian Lagoon. After the tour, Kim & Jack made their way through St Marks square where they paused for photos with the mass of tourists and were cheered everywhere they went.
Pushing on through, the couple arrived at their reception at Taverna la Fenice a charming, historic and romantic restaurant stood beside the world-famous La Fenice opera house. After a dash inside to avoid a spot of rain, the couple celebrated their evening with a round of very heartwarming speeches before being seated for a truly delicious 7 course meal. After dinner, the couple enjoyed their evening filled with music, impromptu dancing and sampling of la Fenices extensive wine cellar.
We left the couple very full, slightly tipsy but unbelievable happy that we had been able to experience their wedding adventure with them. I wish Kim & Jack all the happiness in the future and I hope that they have an amazing honeymoon!
