Hyde Bank Farm Wedding Photography

I first met up with Mike & Richard last year at their amazing house in Romiley. We chatted through their ideas, they told me all about their plans for a relaxed and intimate wedding at the gorgeous Hyde Bank Farm. From that, I knew I had to be involved and eight months later here we are.

On the morning of the wedding, I joined Mike & Richard as they got ready together at home surrounded by their friends, they opened cards, chatted together and toasted to the day ahead. It was only a few minute’s drive to the Farm so I raced ahead to meet them as they arrived.

Same-Sex Wedding Ceremony

Family and friends were gathered for their ceremony as the couple made their way down the aisle hand in hand together. After the formal part of their day, Mike & Richard exited the barn into congratulatory hugs from their family before enjoying a stroll through a flurry of confetti with their friends. The guests then enjoyed a drinks reception outside on the patio and we paused for some family groups before wandering the grounds of the farm for some portraits.

Before dinner, the guests enjoyed a round of speeches from the bridal party which featured an impressive double act from Mike & Richard themselves, a heartfelt speech by best man Steven and a reworked Ballad of Barry & Freda by best woman Wendy. After a delicious meal, the guests enjoyed a relaxed and sunny evening out on the patio before the evening party.

Evening Party In The Sunshine

Their party soon began as the couple greeted their evening guests. After cutting their cake and taking to the floor for their first dance, I managed to steal them away for their final portrait before leaving them to enjoy their evening with their family and friends.

Another amazing wedding at Hyde Bank Farm with another very lovely couple! Massive Congratulations to Mike & Richard, I had an excellent day with you all, thanks so much for having me with you and I hope that you have an amazing honeymoon!

About Hyde Bank Farm

On the south end of this building is a date stone marked ‘ARH 1655’. It is a grade two listed building because of its architectural and historical interest. The building’s previous use was a barn, where horse-drawn carts would pull in to unload hay and corn sheaves into the lofts. On the ground floor was a stable for three Shire horses that provided the horsepower for the farm. By the 1990s the old building developed a serious lean towards the south, so the present owners Alan and Philip Blackhurst decided to make the structure safe and convert it to what it is today. To do this they had to strip off the stone flag roof, winch the wooden trusses back to their original position and then place the stone flags back. All of the beams and the stone roof flats are the originals used to make the building in 1655.
