Hyde Bank Farm Wedding Photography

On Saturday I spent an amazing day with an awesome couple at the stunning Hyde Bank Farm in Romiley. Nicola’s parents jointly own and run Hyde Bank Farm, so I was thrilled that they asked me to join them to capture the day.

I began the morning with Nicola who was in her family home at the farm, relaxing and enjoying some time with her bridesmaids before preparing herself for the day ahead. I took some time to shoot all the lovely details of what she would be wearing before stepping back and watching what was going on. Once the time had come, Nicola was helped in to her custom dress by the very talented designer Julie, from Village Bride before jumping into her shire-horse driven carriage for the short journey to St Chads Church.

Wedding Ceremony At St Chads Church

I raced ahead to meet up with Simon who arrived with his groomsmen to greet the couple’s family and friends. As everyone had gathered inside, Nicola soon arrived and was walked down the aisle by her father to meet Simon. Their ceremony was interspersed with readings, hymns, moments of laughter and heartfelt glances between the couple. Once the formal part of their day was complete, the couple exited the church to congratulatory hugs and confetti before jumping back into their carriage.

As we headed back to the farm, the sun was shining as we arrived ready for an awesome afternoon and I was there to greet the couple as they arrived. Once all their guests had arrived, they enjoyed a drinks reception before a wander around the grounds for some portraits. As everyone was convened in the wedding breakfast suite gorgeously decorated by Carla from The Classy Blooms Florist, the couple were welcomed into their wedding breakfast to enjoy good company and a delicious meal.

An Afternoon At Hyde Bank Farm

After the food was finished, everyone enjoyed a round of speeches before settling in for the evening. It was during this time that we ventured back out into the evening sunshine for some portraits. Once everyone was ready, the couple were welcomed into their party, cut their cake and took to the dance floor as man and wife. I also had the chance to shoot some final portraits before leaving the couple to enjoy their evening.

What a day it was and a pleasure to shoot an awesome Blackhurst family wedding. Massive Congratulations to Nicola & Simon, I hope that you have an awesome honeymoon, thanks so much for having me as your photographer!

About Hyde Bank Farm

On the south end of this building is a date stone marked ‘ARH 1655’. It is a grade two listed building because of its architectural and historical interest. The building’s previous use was a barn, where horse-drawn carts would pull in to unload hay and corn sheaves into the lofts. On the ground floor was a stable for three Shire horses that provided the horsepower for the farm. By the 1990s the old building developed a serious lean towards the south, so the present owners Alan and Philip Blackhurst decided to make the structure safe and convert it to what it is today. To do this they had to strip off the stone flag roof, winch the wooden trusses back to their original position and then place the stone flags back. All of the beams and the stone roof flats are the originals used to make the building in 1655.
